This is an 8-week workshop that will be focused on defining and exploring religious trauma, and the intersection of this experience with Asian American identity. Each week, we will open by engaging in somatic practices with the goal of reconnecting to and grounding in our bodies and nervous systems. This will be followed by the introduction and group discussion of a topic. Each meeting will then close with a brief meditation. The workshop will be focused on religious trauma specifically within the framework of the Evangelical Christian experience.

Please note: While this workshop will integrate therapeutic elements, this will not be a therapy space. To participate, workshop members are required to have the following:

  • An individual therapist with whom they are working on an ongoing basis
  • Reliable and stable internet connection for the duration of meetings
  • Ability to commit to all eight meetings
